AUTHENTICITY - HOW FAR IS TO F%$£ING FAR?

April 7, 2019

Ok, so I have a question for you all.

I’m an ex soldier and a straight talker. I don’t believe in beating around the bush, so I tend to be quite direct. If I think you’re a cockwomble, I'll tell you you’re a cockwomble.

I swear, (an ex soldier that swears - shocker!) not a huge amount and not in front of my kids, but I do tend to let a few fucks fly, when I’m getting passionate about life. Obviously this isn’t for everyone but I really do think that authenticity is more important now than it’s ever been. I don’t want to be anything or anyone I’m not.

So:

When giving a talk or doing a video, do I lose the swearing for the sake of “professionalism?”

Or, do I stay true to my authentic self and say, “fuck off if you don’t like it?”

Of course, every audience is different and i do tend to gauge an audience and adjust accordingly but i do feel slightly phoney when i check myself to suit the occasion.

Let’s hear your opinions people.........
